Guitarist Steve Rieck grew up in
Connecticut where he developed a love of Jazz, Blues and
Rock at an early
age. After moving to Florida in his early teens, he
honed his guitar skills playing professionally and
studying
with many of the areas finest jazz musicians. In 1989,
he moved to Boston to study music at the Berklee
College of Music where he attained his degree in Jazz
Guitar and Professional Music.
While in Boston, Steve also composed and arranged music
for his own original Jazz-Fusion group, which
performed many times at the college as well as several
prestigious events around Boston. After graduation,
Steve moved to the Atlanta area where he has
consistently worked as a professional musician playing
on hundreds of recording sessions including projects
ranging from full-length albums to music for theatre
groups and corporate videos. His work as a producer and
player is also featured on the iTunes Music Store.
His compositions have been featured on major Atlanta
radio stations, received awards from Billboard
Magazine and have been critically acclaimed in local
newspapers such as the Atlanta Journal Constitution and
Creative Loafing Magazine. He has authored a book on
music theory and is currently working with his own
group on a CD of his original Jazz-Rock compositions as
well as performing with several other bands around
Atlanta.
